They searched for a few hours last night before resuming today at 9 a.m. The men and women packed up their heat image sensing equipment, rakes, pokers and other tools and instruments and left the scene around 1:30 p.m...

The neglect on the authorities part is disgraceful. This reminds me of Jeffery Dahmner in Milwaukee. In that case the police actually allowed the criminal to take the victim back with him and finish the job (of killing him).
What is even sadder is the neglect of the victims on the community's part--no on cared about most these women. Is this because they were drug addicts or because they were women? Were they that horrible of people that no one even looked for some of them?
Like Jack the Ripper and the Green River Killer, Sowell knew he had found the ideal prey. People that no one cared about, especially the police.
I am not passing judgement on the East Cleveland community. I am just asking questions. I think there are many factors that allowed this man to gorge his appitite for murder to the point he got to. Not just the police, not just the families and not just the victims. It would not surprise me to learn that there are a lot more Sowells out there in other cities across the nation.
