A 34-year-old man whom police say is a registered sex offender was arrested at a retirement home late Tuesday night after reportedly sexually assaulting an 85-year-old resident there.
Employees at the Cornerstone Retirement Home at 1240 N. Broadmoor told police they saw a man try unsuccessfully to open the locked front door of the home at 11:45 p.m. Rebuffed at that door, he apparently went around to a back door and forced entry.
He went into the room of an 85-year-old man and requested sexual favors, police said. The man refused, so the suspect went to a second room and fondled the breast of an 85-year-old woman.
Police were notified, and the suspect was arrested at the scene.
