The reaction time of the Secret Service is astounding. Yes, it was but a pair of shoes, but the journalist had two wide open shots at thumping the lame duck POTUS. What if they were shoe bombs?

And notice Bush in the background while the assailant was being restrained. No one tried to remove him from the situation, or so much as stand in front of him. Circling the drain fast.

As the man continued to scream while being hauled away, Bush said, "That was a size 10 shoe he threw at me, you may want to know."

It's time George headed back to Crawford and let Laura settle in to her house in Dallas. Maybe he will do something productive. Probably not.

Maybe he and his cronies will work on getting Texas to secede from the United States. Go solo.
